Our roses were red,
Our violets were blue,
But now you're dead,
and I should be too.
I was told to move on,
I was told to let go,
But still I dwell upon
A night not so long ago.
We were in love,
We were naive,
We needed a shove,
We needed not to leave.
But away we went,
Down that dark little road,
My pride held many a-dent,
My heart a dark bode.
I couldn't hold on,
I broke into tears,
You asked me "What's Wrong?"
We didn't see the deer.
By then it was far too late,
To slam on the brake,
But I suppose,
This was our fate.
